Congestion Pricing Update
Today is the deadline for the city and state to approve Congestion Pricing. Here is just a quick update on the actions Tony has taken against this proposal:
- On March 31st, Tony voted against Congestion Pricing in the City Council.
- On April 3rd, Tony submitted a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request to the Mayor and City Council, to bring some transparency to the the process that lead to the passage of Congestion Pricing in the City Council. Tony was stunned that many of his fellow Council Members changed their vote on Congestion Pricing at the 11th hour. This FOIL request will help to determine if pork projects or special favors were used to secure their votes.
- Over the past few days, Tony has attended a number of Anti-Congestion Pricing rallies to help increase pressure on the State Assembly to do the right thing.
Stay tuned for a statement regarding Congestion Pricing at the end of the day, as the State Assembly makes its final decision.
